章鱼像鹦鹉一样坚硬的嘴不是用来攻击深水潜水员的，只是用来敲开蟹壳和虾壳的。章鱼狭小的喉咙没办法吞下大块的肉。它吃东西的方式是先把消化液喷到猎物上，然后把化成水的吸进去。蚌或者蛤要是被章鱼吸住了很快就会去。可是人类非常安全。不过人们还是很少敢于靠近这些温顺地生物来看个仔细。
